Basic Course Syllabus: Beginner I Belly Dance 3 sessions per year: Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sept-Dec 12-14 weeks in duration Course Subjects: 1. Basic introduction to Middle Eastern Dance 2. History and Culture 3. Isolations 4. Footwork 5. Belly Dance Aerobics 6. Introduction to Middle Eastern Percussion 7. Introduction to Veil and Finger Cymbals 8. Learn two beginner routines to music Beginner II (Intermediate)Belly Dance 3 sessions per year: Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sept-Dec 12-14 weeks in duration Course subjects: 1.. Advanced Isolations 2.. Combination steps 3.. Advanced veil work 4.. Belly Dance Aerobics 5.. Dance to Drums and Finger Cymbals 6.. Learn 2 routines to pre-recorded music 7.. Learn 2 routines to "live" drums Advanced/ Dream Harem Prerequisites/Auditions required for placement in this class. Space limited. Student/performer must attend all rehearsals and attend 2 seminars and 2workshops per year. Ongoing year around: 1.. Advanced techniques 2.. Performance training 3.. Stage presence/stage dynamics/ costuming 4.. Restaurant dancing 5.. 3-4 new dance routines per year 6.. Play select Middle Eastern Rhythms on Egyptian tabla |
